The XMM-Newton Guest Observer Facility is organizing a 25th Anniversary science conference to be held 19 – 22 May in Baltimore, MD.

This conference will focus on currently exciting XMM-Newton science, synergies between XMM and other missions, and implications for the future. We are planning invited and contributed speakers and poster sessions. We especially encourage those new to the field of X-ray astronomy to attend. There is no registration fee for this conference.

Abstract Submission: Abstract submission is due by Friday, March 28, 2025. Poster submissions will continue to be accepted until Wednesday, May 7, 2025. To submit an abstract, please submit the form here.

Pending Registration: If you would like to be on our email list to receive updates when registration opens, please fill out the Google form here.

The conference hotel will be the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore. We are in the process of finalizing the hotel room block, and will update this page when the block is open. We do acknowledge the logistical delay in providing hotel details and we apologize for this. By registering your interest at the form above, you will receive an email as soon as hotel room blocks are announced (shortly) and registration and other details are available.

UPDATE: The sleeping room rate for the conference is $150 plus 17.5% tax per night. If you make a reservation now, we will ensure that your reservation is moved into the conference block once this opens. We highly recommend to purchase refundable travel as all travel expenses incurred as a result of the conference at this point will solely be the responsibility of the traveler. Adding your name to the form above doesn’t guarantee conference attendance and travelers should wait until informed that they have been accepted via e-mail.
